JLL launches Center of Excellence for Sustainable Development in Commercial Real Estate in Montreal

The city will become a global research and development hub for the design of more sustainable and greener buildings

This news is an important step in achieving its environmental goals, promoting best practices in sustainability and inspiring the entire industry.

The Center aims to accelerate the adoption of new processes, technologies, research ideas and projects for use in the commercial, industrial, office and multi-family segments of the commercial real estate sector in collaboration with university research teams. The operations of the Center of Excellence will act as a pipeline to accelerate the development of new research, ideas, startups and scale-ups, always directing its efforts towards the ambitious goal of net zero carbon by 2040. With the Center of Excellence , JLL anticipates a huge economic, local, national and even global impact. As its activities intensify, the Center will be fully operational by January 2023.

A zero-carbon industry by 2040

Through the Center of Excellence for Sustainability in Real Estate, JLL and its allies aim to be pioneers and accelerate the industry’s transition to net zero carbon by 2040. To do this, the Center will pursue scientific research and experimental development to identify, test and disseminate knowledge and best practices while supporting the development of new technologies.

In the wake of this inauguration, JLL announced the appointment of Hugues Delmaire and John Ciganaco-directors of the Center of Excellence for Sustainable Development in Real Estate, two leaders with remarkable backgrounds, to guide the ambitious destiny, develop partnerships and ensure the success of this major project.
