Jeju language presented through commercial design templates
JEJU, December 20 (Korea Bizwire) – Jeju government announced dozens of official business design templates inspired by Jeju language to promote local culture.
According to government officials, 13 design patterns involving the Jeju language, a Korean dialect unique to Jeju Island, were officially recognized under the design project, which began in August.
A variety of items should be developed using the designs, including eco-friendly bags, umbrellas, wrapping paper, and business cards.
Of the 100 words in the Jeju language initially recommended by members of the public and experts, 30 were chosen based on the results of a preference survey.
Many words in the carefully selected design templates are positive and creative, encapsulating the beauty of the Jeju language.
Examples include “nuyoung nayoung”, which means “you and me”, and “hondimoyoung”, which means “all together”.
The 30 words were then incorporated into a number of design templates resembling iconic places and the natural environment of the island, such as the blue sea and Olle’s famous hiking trails.
Jeju government plans to make the design models available on its official website in the future.
