Interview with Aubri Ebony, lifestyle and sales model
HELLO AUBRI, THANKS SO MUCH FOR JOINING US! CAN YOU TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF, WHO IS AUBRI EBONY IN YOUR OWN WORDS?
Aubri Ebony is a lifestyle and business model with an alluring social media presence. I have had numerous billboards in the United States as well as publications in the International Maxim and Essence Magazine issues. I am a former Sports Illustrated Swim Suit Top competitor and am currently using my masters degree to provide mental health care to models in the industry.
HOW AND WHEN EXACTLY DID YOU REALIZE THAT YOU HAVE A PASSION FOR MODELING?
I have the impression that in 2017 it was my ascent. Modeling is something I wanted to do but didn’t know if I could. I signed with my first agency in 2016 and things picked up from there.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT BEING A MODEL AND WHICH ARE SOME OF YOUR BIGGEST INFLUENCES IN THE MODELING INDUSTRY?
I love the opportunities I get as a role model. I love taking pictures because that’s one of the things I’m really good at. I also meet tons of amazing people and often get the opportunity to travel to amazing places. I am so inspired by all the beautiful women of color I see on agency listings. I feel like they are all my biggest influences and I strive to encourage, uplift, inspire and support role models.
HOW IMPORTANT IS PERSONAL BRANDING IN YOUR PROFESSION?
That’s all. Knowing who you are and projecting it publicly really helps people understand you.
WHAT ADVICE AND TRICKS DO YOU GIVE TO YOUNG Aspiring models?
Find an agency that inspires you and build your portfolio based on the portfolios you see on the website. Be specific in building your portfolio. Have 8-10 photos in your harbor to start. Head photos, sports photos (yoga, running, whatever sports you’re good at), something casual and something swimming or underwear. Then submit to an agency.
SOMETHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH OUR READERS?
I think it’s important to let readers know that progress takes time. Be patient. Stay focused. To be coherent. Have a strong support system, stay true to who you are, and be a good human… good karma is everything.
