Hear Dua Lipa sing “Levitating” a cappella in new Evian commercial – Music News
If you’ve ever wondered what Dua Lipa‘her voice would sound like without all the music and studio effects, judge for yourself: she shows off her a cappella vocal chops in a new advertisement for Evian called “Drink True.”
In the new commercial, Dua, who was named Evian’s global ambassador last July, is shown doing sound checks for a performance in a theater. After taking a sip of Evian, she puts on her in-ear headphones, which allow her to hear herself through the room’s audio system, and begins singing her hit “Levitating” without any accompanying music. She never misses a note.
“Bringing it all back to a beautiful and calm flow, it was refreshing and different,” Dua said in a statement. “It’s not often that I get the chance to take a break and sing my music a cappella, so I hope the fans enjoy it.”
The campaign is meant to celebrate “authenticity, transparency and honesty”, and Dua notes: “Being a part of this campaign means a lot to me; I have always found being true to myself extremely empowering. And I like that it’s important in Evian too.
By the way, the bottle Dua is seen drinking from is made from 100% recycled plastic.
“Levitating” is from Dua’s hit album Nostalgia for the future, which earned him six Grammy nominations this weekend, including Record, Song and Album of the Year.
